Different Types of Parts of a Car Engine that are Important to Know

Parts of a car engine have many different types of section and one of them is the core. Inside the core we can see the piston which is moving upside and down inside the cylinder of the core. Usually the engine has different number of cylinder from the simple one cylinder to 4 cylinder one that are usually being used as powertrain of car and other vehicle.

For simple engine such as lawnmower the cylinder will be only one cylinder. The highest cylinder that is known on the car is around 8 to 6 cylinder which is known as V6 engine and V8 engine. There are also different arrangement for the cylinder from flat type, V (which is used by V engine) and also inline arrangement.

Different engine have different movement and how they work. Due to this reason, it is important to know which types of engine that your car has. This is because by knowing the engine type you can discover the problem even faster if compared by not knowing the characteristic and also the personality of the engine itself.

There are also several different car parts in the engine that will be talking about so you can know about the differences of the engine and also giving you better insight on how the engine works in first place.

1. Spark Plug

Spark plug is a part on the engine that has the function to ignite the fuel mixture. This is important to give the combustion on the engine that will make the engine to work properly, spark plug also need to happen at the right moment so the engine can work properly.

2. Valves

The next parts of a car engine are the valve. This part is very important as the opening in the engine to let the intake and exhaust of the engine to go in and out. This part in a car work to make sure that the combustion chamber is tightly sealed so the engine can run.

3. Piston and Piston Rings

Piston itself is a part of the engine that looks like a cylinder and moves up and down in the cylinder, as the piston rings is the seal between the inner edge of the piston with its outer edge, piston rings works as a part to prevent the combustion chamber to leak during its combustion and compression time.

4. Connecting Rod

Just as the name means connecting rod is a rod that connect crankshaft to piston. It can rotate and changes the crankshaft rotation as well as the piston movement which makes the engine to work properly and better.

5. Crankshaft

Lastly we got the crankshaft that works to turn the piston in a down and up motion which looks like a jack in a box movement design, this parts of a car engine is quite important as it makes the piston moves and offer a combustion energy from the movement of the piston that powered up the car to move and also working properly as it needs to be.
